Army of ants to invade festival

WHEN Bleach Festival hits southern Gold Coast shores from March 6-22, it will bring an inspiring feast of Australia's best contemporary theatre, music and visual arts across three weekends.

On Thursday, one of the stars of Bleach flew into the Gold Coast to meet some local kids ahead of the festival.

He'll be back next year with an army of human-sized ant friends.

The ants will create their own surreal style of roving performances and initiate large-scale interaction with kids and adults at various locations on the Gold Coast.

Despite their size, children are drawn irresistibly to the ants and work alongside them, gathering crumb after giant crumb.
