Artist offers colour adventure
PUTTING "fun" into fundamental while alluding to the new Aussie movie Mental is part of the philosophy behind Kingscliff artist Cath Grant's upcoming exhibition at Gallery D'bar.
The PJ Hogan film showcases some of her artwork, while her work oozes a sense of fun with a combination of colourist, pointillism and abstract expressionism.
"My pointillism style stems from a personal philosophy that each point of view truly counts," Ms Grant said.
"I love all that is abstract.
"Our interconnectiveness as a species fascinates me.
"Like strands in a tapestry, lives are interwoven with other lives forming a diverse and colour-laden pattern that is as random as it is rich with the pulse of life."
Ms Grant sees life as a celebration of colour.
"The world needs more fun raisers," she said.
"There are ample fundraisers."
The exhibition is dedicated to Elizabeth Grace, author of Sacred "Geometry Codes. 99 keys to the Consciousness."
Fundamental - Adventures of a Colourist opens on May 25 at 6.30pm at Gallery D'bar, 275, Boundary St, opposite Point Danger lighthouse.
It runs from May 25 to June 28.
