Artist wants to live in the now
MUDGEERABA artist and writer Lisa Frost is on a mission to spread love and happiness through the world.
Raising money for Opportunity International and inspiring people to “love this moment”, Ms Frost has created a challenge for herself which culminates in her eventually visiting the icy continent of Antarctica.
And she wants to do all this through the sale of her book Love This Moment, an inspiring pictorial story of Ms Frost’s struggle with life’s highs and lows.
“The challenge I’ve created is to raise money so people in India can start their own business and take themselves out of poverty, which is what Opportunity International does,” she said
“The challenge is about inspiring people to live their dreams and most importantly be happy now.
“It’s all too easy to get caught up trying to get somewhere or achieve something and forget what’s really important in life, and missing out on a lot of happiness as a result.”
Ms Frost said her self-published book of photographs was a reminder to embrace the present.
“In 2006 a very close friend of mine died suddenly,” she said.
“Because of my ego, we weren’t really talking at the time.
“His death was an awakening for me, and from then I decided to live the life my heart desires.”
So she set out to create a new philosophy and spread the gospel of inspiration.
“Life is now,” she said.
“When you are present you can look past the voice in your head of ego and fear and be aware of the truth of your heart, the truth of your soul and yourself.”
From every sale of Love This Moment, Ms Frost donates $10 to Opportunity International, a non-profit organisation which provides people living in poverty with access to microfinance services such as loans and advice to help them start or grow their own small business.
Also from the sale of her books she plans to travel to Antarctica, a long-held desire and one which now represents her beliefs on living life in the present.
