Aspiring musician set to launch EP

A TWEED musician has taken the step of launching her first self-published EP.

Sarah Archer will launch Waking Up Tomorrow in Tugun tonight.

Tonight's show is a special occasion for the singer/songwriter, who will take to the stage with the nine musicians who helped her with the EP.

This is a show Ms Archer organised herself as an independent artist.

“Being independent is hard,” she said.

“I do everything myself. I don't really like talking about myself, but I want people to hear my music.”

Ms Archer chose five tracks for the EP she hoped would introduce her music to listeners.

“These are moody songs,” she said.

“I love pop music, but I don't consider myself a pop musician.

“Waking Up Tomorrow is about not leaving it 'til tomorrow. I usually love leaving it 'til tomorrow.”

Ms Archer said she was “very excited about the gig”, especially after the rehearsal with the band.

“Usually I'm a solo artist, but for the bigger gigs I have a guitarist and a drummer,” she said.
