Assault victim on road to recovery

BANORA Point resident Corey Middleton is still in the Gold Coast Hospital, after being assaulted on New Year's Eve.

The 40-year-old Tweed Shire Council quarry supervisor was recovering well after being rushed to hospital and undergoing surgery as a result of the incident.

Mr Middleton's father, John said there had been many inquiries into his son's condition.

“We have received a lot of phone calls about Corey's condition and to offer us support,” Mr Middleton said.

“We would like to thank the Tweed community for all their support at this time.”

Mr Middleton said his son may be able to return home within the next few days.
