Aussie Rules on the coast

THE Tweed Coast Tigers Junior AFL Club experienced another wash out last weekend and the game is to be rescheduled.

The only football played last weekend was the under-8 carnival on Friday.

The club has been surprised and delighted by the excellent turn out of the children and by the ability shown by some of these very young players.

THIS progressive club has opened negotiations with a few Gold Coast Clubs for games to be played during the school holidays.

This is in line with the director's resolve to continue improving all aspects of the clubs activities and is expected to be good training for any possible move to the Gold Coast competition.

Also the Club commenced merging arrangements with the new senior club and a combined approach to the Tweed Shire Council is expected for a home ground at the end of the season in preparation for next year.

THE League has the annual representative inter-zone game for the Mike Kenny Shield coming up on July 12 at Ballina. As there has been so little football played this season, the selectors have an impossible job.

In unusual circumstances clubs have been asked to supply names of players who are interested in representing Northern Rivers.

Please contact the club if you are interested in playing in this representative game.

NEXT week the club is home to Byron Bay Magpies at Pottsville Oval

Any players looking for a game please contact the club or myself on (02) 6676 0028.
