Author talks cruise into libraries

YOU don't have to be a seasoned sailor to cruise Australia's coastline.

Just ask Marilyn Graham.

She will share her experiences as a "salty dog" with visitors at Tweed Heads Library on July 11.

Tweed Area Libraries for the month of July are providing the free community sessions, including a talk by Ms Graham, the author of the Coastal Cruising Companion.

A practical, novice sailor's travel guide to towns, ports and anchorages along Australia's east coast from Hobart, Tasmania to Maryborough and Queensland, the book offers helpful hints, nautical mileage grids, maps, destination photographs and tourist information.

Ms Graham, a coastal cruiser, will inspire others to throw off the bowlines as she shares her cruising adventures.

The libraries will also hold sessions on Creative meditation: I am the master of my mind.

Presented by Linda Cooper, coordinator of Brahma Kumaris Australia - Gold Coast Centre, Ms Cooper has over 30 years experience in meditation.

"Slowing down your thoughts in meditation can take you into an experience of quietness, stillness and peace," she said.

Learn how the mind works and how to train the mind to create quality positive thoughts.
