Autopsy today for Coast mum and daughter

AUTHORITIES are still piecing together how Noelene Bischhoff, 54, and her daughter Yvana, 14, became violently ill and died just two days into a 15-day Bali holiday

Fairfax Media has reported the pair's bodies are at Sanglah Hospital awaiting autopsy to uncover what happened in the early hours of Saturday morning.

The pair had spent the evening in Ubud, the arts hub of central Bali, before returning to their east Coast hotel Padang Bai Beach Resort around dinner time.

Five hours later a violently ill Yvana was desperately begging security staff for help, saying both she and her mother were ill.

Fairfax Media reported that within 15 minutes Noelene died on the way to a nearby medical clinic.

Yvana was taken in a separate ambulance to the Bali International medical clinic in Denpasar, but despite still being conscious and able to speak to doctors on arrival at the hospital, she could not be saved.

A Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade spokesman would not confirm reports from Australia that the mother and daughter had died as a result of food poisoning.

A post mortem is expected to be undertaken today.
