Truck rolls on Pacific Hwy: Police still investigating
Updated report, December 5: Police are still investigating a truck crash which occurred on the Pacific Highway near Mooball yesterday morning.
Crime Manager Detective Inspector Brendon Cullen said the driver has not been charged at this point. "The officer in charge has spoken to the driver, but the matter is still under investigation," Insp Cullen said.
Insp Cullen said preliminary investigations have suggested fatigue was a major factor in the incident. The truck, which was loaded with steel rods, overturned around 6:30am yesterday.
While no one was injured in the incident, it is believed a guardrail was damaged.
Updated report, December 4, 1.03pm: POLICE have said fatigue is was the cause of a truck crash near Mooball this morning.
The vehicle which was carrying steel rods rolled on to its side. Police have confirmed nobody was injured.
Updated report 12.58pm: ACCORDING to the RTA website, all lanes on the Pacific Hwy at the site of this morning's truck crash have re-opened.
Updated report 11.10am: EMERGENCY services and police are still on the scene of a crash on the Pacific Highway near Murwillumbah where a truck rolled on its side.
It is understood the truck driver was not injured and no other vehicles were involved in the incident.
Inititial report 9.25am, A TRUCK is upside down at the side of the Pacific Highway near Mooball after an incident just before 6.30am today.
The incident took place near Burringbar Creek not far from Mooball.
Emergency services are in attendance with one of two northbound lanes closed.
