Bald man robs newsagency

POLICE are looking for a bald middle-aged man who robbed a newsagency at Pottsville on Wednesday afternoon.

About 5.30pm a man followed Pottsville newsagency's female shop attendant into the store as she was closing up.

The man then produced a small handgun and emptied the contents of the shop's till before taking off in an unknown direction.

Detective Acting Inspector Saul Wiseman described the man as 45 to 50 years old, as bald as "a bowling ball" and wearing white rugger short and a white jumper.

Detective Wiseman said no one was injured during the incident, however police were asking members of the public to come forward if they noticed anyone acting suspiciously during that time at the location in question.

If you were at Pottsville at or around 5.30 pm yesterday and saw a bald man dressed in white clothing and acting strangely contact Tweed Heads police on 07 5536 0999 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
