Banana Festival queen season launches
THE Tweed Valley Banana Festival Queen season has now launched.
This year's hopeful queens and teen queens experienced their first outing on Sunday.
They visited Buck's Barn at Chillingham to learn about natural bush products.
Then the eager agriculturalists traveled to the Dunbible Dairy in Stokers Siding, to learn about the dairy industry.
On Sunday, June 28, they will take part in a Barefoot Bowls day at Condong Bowls Club from 9.30am-1pm.
The annual float parade and crowning of the Tweed Valley Banana Festival royal party will be take place on August 29, at Knox Park, Murwillumbah.
This year's queens are: Abbie McMahon, Stephanie Hart, Lisa Teitzel, Erin Kennedy (2014 Queen), Amy Partridge, Rhiannon Francis, Nalani Cora, Candace Lee and Brooke Magnum.
Teen Queens are: Shari Keanie, Jodie Swift-Devine, Kate Hodges, Alysha De Lyon, Ellie Brims (2014 Teen Personality) Kahlia McKay, Tash Francis and Mackenzie Turner.
