Banora Point hosts forum on domestic violence

DOMESTIC violence and sexual assault can be fought – but the community needs your help.

Minister for the Prevention of Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Pru Goward is encouraging Tweed residents to attend an open public forum on these issues this Thursday, March 3.

The forum, organised by Tweed MP Geoff Provest and hosted by Catherine Cusack MLC, will be held at Banora Point Community Centre from 6–8pm.

Mr Provest said the forum would give locals the opportunity to discuss domestic violence with frontline experts from NSW Police, Family and Community Services and service providers.

Ms Goward will be at the forum to discuss reforms like Safer Pathways, which operates at six sites across the state, including Tweed Heads.

“The NSW Government is determined to take every action possible to end domestic violence,” MsGoward said.

The NSW Government last year announced a $60m package to tackle DV.
