Beach Hotel official Rally party pub

KINGSCLIFF will be the hive of activity when the World Rally Championship comes to the Tweed next month; but the real party will be at the village's pub.

The Kingscliff Beach Hotel has been named the “Official Party Pub” for Rally Australia that will run on back roads in Tweed and Kyogle Shires from September 3 to 6, after its licensee Chris Watson approached organisers Rally Australia earlier this year.

Locals are invited to attend a welcome barbecue for the international drivers, media, crew and organisers to be held at the Marine Parade pub from 6.30pm on September 2.

Live entertainment will be provided on the Friday and Saturday night of the event from 9pm with Gold Coast Blues outfit Blind Lemon headlining the Rally Wrap-Up Party from 7pm on September 6.

“We'll also be providing a shuttle service from the pit lane and main race area at the Cudgen Leagues Club on Friday, Saturday and Sunday night,” Mr Watson told the Tweed Daily News yesterday.
