Cheap holidays in Tweed as tourism campaign begins

A $295,000 campaign to lure more visitors to the North Coast could also prove a money-saver for locals wanting to take a break.

The new Beaches & Bush Campaign was designed to promote and lure more visitors to the North Coast, said Destination Tweed Marketing Manager Emma Cao.

The campaign focuses on accommodation, attractions and activities, as well as price offers or value-added deals, to encourage bookings and travel.

"Holidays will become a whole lot cheaper with a range of discounted accommodation, which can be teamed up with super deals for holidaymakers on attractions and activities in the region," Ms Cao said.

But Destination Tweed was also encouraging locals to make the most of the campaign.

"Families and couples can take advantage of discounted B&B rates, hotel accommodation and camping options or take the opportunity to visit some of the local attractions and day tours in their own backyard," she said.

The deals are on offer throughout February, March and April 2014.

Destination Tweed hopes all Tweed tourism accommodation and attraction operators get involved in the campaign which is free.
