Shake to rhythmic Samba Blisstas
JACK Evans Boat Harbour will rumble with tribal vibrations and the energy of South American street parties when the Samba Blisstas bring their act to the Tweed River Festival stage.
The riotous red rhythms of the Tweed-based drumming troupe will be hard to miss at the festival's main day on November 12 where anyone and everyone is invited to take part.
"If people have a love of rhythm and dance and are able to count to four then they are more than welcome to take part," the troupe's founder and director Paul Barrett said.
He encouraged everyone to have a go and delve into the activity he described as "therapeutic for the nervous system".
"The vibrations are very powerful and the energy of the beat brings people together and drums out any troubles."
To belt it out with the Samba Blisstas' best, call Mr Barrett on 02 6676 4558.
Classes meet weekly at Kingscliff Bowls Club.
The Tweed River Festival is about engaging people through low- and no-cost activities to discover and respect the world-class waterways of the border region.
Activities begin this Friday, running through to November 13 with lantern-making workshops, discount water sports, a climate-change forum, field trips and more.
