Beauty students graduate to jobs

STUDENTS from the new Gold Coast Training Academy Coolangatta/Tweed Campus are flying high on success with a 100% job rate in the first graduating class.

Students from the Burleigh Heads campus have also fared well in the job category with the majority of students gaining employment in the industry on the Gold Coast or overseas.

The Gold Coast beauty school farewelled more than 50 students from the Diploma of Beauty Therapy, Certificate IV in Beauty Therapy, Certificate II in Make-Up and the

Advanced Diploma of Health Science (Aesthetics) on Saturday night.

The graduating class cele- brated in style with more than 150 guests at the Crowne Plaza in Surfers Paradise.

Gold Coast Training Aca- demy valedictorian Kristina Gianneas addressed the audi- ence after returning from her four-month internship with Aman Resorts in Bali and announced her new position of International Trainer for Sodashi Skin Care.

Gold Coast Training Academy Director Lana Gibson said the student's employment status is an excellent result.

“We have many students in international employment and one student who will be working in London,” Ms Gibson said.

“These are very good statistics, especially with the Coolangatta class as they are the first students to graduate from that venue.

“We have orientation for our new classes on Monday and there are still places available.”

Ms Gibson said the Gold Coast is a prime location for beauty industry employment.

“The Gold Coast certainly offers a lot of opportunities,” Ms Gibson said.

“We have the ability to get students employment overseas and take part in internships. There are so many opportun- ities available and we are so proud of the graduates.”
