'Best standard of talent yet'

SONGS from famed musicals including Annie and Mary Poppins wrapped up the Murwillumbah Festival of Performing Arts' music section yesterday.

Music convenor Pauline Hibbard said she was blown away by this year's talented vocalists.

“I think it's been the highest standard of competition we've had,” Ms Hibbard said.

Today is the start of the popular dance section, which festival president Arthur Holmes said has seen 80 more entries than last year.

“We have more than 350 dance troops coming,” Mr Holmes said.

“We had to add one extra day to get through them all.”
