Big morning tea in Cabarita

THINK you've got a good eye in a guessing game?

Try your luck with Wanda Mansfield's famous jar of buttons at the Cabarita Biggest Morning Tea on Thursday morning and you could win yourself a beautiful hand-crafted rug and support a good cause at the same time.

The Cancer Council fundraiser has been run in Cabarita for 15 years.

Tables overflowing with home-made scones, slices and cakes, a fashion parade from the Second Chance Opportunity Shop, trading table and of course the guessing competition to win Ms Mansfield's rugs attracts a huge crowd.

The Bogangar Public School choir will also provide the entertainment.

Organiser Robyn Creedon said the Biggest Morning Tea had raised $1500 last year and they were aiming for a similar result again.

"It's been really well organised and we're expecting around 100 people," Ms Creedon said.

"A lot of the community gets involved and really look forward to it each year.

"They meet up with old friends and really get into it and have a lot of fun."

Be at the Baptist Church Community Centre on Cabarita Rd on Thursday May 24 to get involved.
