Black Caviar delivers

THE glitzy part of the car park might have been a Kardashian or two short of a frenzy, but the girl 85,112 people had come to see didn't disappoint. Black Caviar's fame is real, and she always delivers on her promise.

She waltzed down the Flemington straight for a 16th consecutive win, leaving half a dozen rivals for dust and commentators fishing for words to do her justice. ''There is the expectation that she's there to win, and you don't want to disappoint anyone who's turned up to see her,'' jockey Luke Nolen said, acutely aware of the pressure to keep that perfect record intact.

''But they are racehorses, and anything can happen on a racetrack. We cross our fingers and toes every time I go out,'' he said.
