Blessings with birthday wishes

THE historic Road ‘n’ Rail Cafe at Murwillumbah was blessed by Buddhist monks on Tuesday for cafe owner Ratsamee Jampakaew’s partner David Perry’s 60th birthday.

About 20 Thai families from Burringbar and Murwillumbah attended for a traditional feast, exchange of gifts and prayer.

“I said I only wanted something small for my birthday,” Mr Perry joked after the elaborate event, which surprised regular customers.
