With less than a week until show time, we pestered the Bluesfest office for some fun facts on putting together this year's festival:

How many artists will perform on stage?
93 -95 different acts (of varying size tour parties).

How many punters are you expecting across the five days this year?
87,500 attendances across the five days.

How many performers roam the grounds?
Most of the artists go out and explore the stages and get the feel of the Bluesfest before and after performing. Last year there was a celebrity cluster in front of the Melbourne Ska Orchestra: Los Lobos, Raul Malo, Tim Robbins, Elvis Costello, Derek Trucks and Susan Tedeschi.

How many tent poles and pegs hold up the Mojo stage?
Eight king poles and 180 pegs.

What is a fashion trend you'd rather see sink in the mud?
Wearing gumboots when there is no mud.

What was the most common item left behind after last year's festival?
Shoes, Sunnies, Mobiles , Wallets, Keys and a few brain cells.

What is the most commonly 'covered' song at Bluesfest?
Sorry, it's all original artists at Bluesfest, no cover songs.

The most asked question by artists on stage?
"How ya feeling Byron Bay?"
