Bob Brown to visit Kingscliff to support Dawn Walker

FORMER Australian Greens leader Bob Brown will visit Kingscliff this month to support the federal election campaign of local party member Dawn Walker.

Mr Brown will be speaking at Kingscliff Hall on Saturday, June 29 from 12.30-1.30pm.

Ms Walker, who is the Greens candidate for the seat of Richmond, said it would be a shot in the arm for her campaign.

"He's made a special effort to support this end of the electorate because he can see we're ready for change," Ms Walker said.

"If you've seen him speak he's so motivating."

She said the format for the afternoon was still being worked out as the visit was only finalised last night but it was likely to include a question and answer session.

Mr Brown will be talking about his current work which includes fighting against whaling in the Antarctic.

He attracted huge audiences and pop-star like attention when he visited the Northern Rivers mid-last year on a speaking tour just weeks after retiring from the Senate.

Only 150 tickets are available at $15 each. Tickets will be available from Kingscliff's Boardwalk Books.
