Body of missing Pottsville man found

THE BODY of a Far North Coast man missing since June has been found in scrubland near Overall Drive, Pottsville.

Jason Lowney, 37, was last seen by his de facto partner at their Pottsville home on June 10 this year.

Following a search, police attached to Tweed-Byron Local Area Command located Mr Lowney's remains just after 6pm last Friday.

The death is not being treated as suspicious.

Police and Mr Lowney's family wish to thank the media and the public for their assistance.

A report is being prepared for the coroner.
