Bogut fires up at teammate’s suspension

BASKETBALL: Boomers centre Andrew Bogut has jumped to the defence of Golden State Warriors teammate Draymond Green after he was suspended from game five of the NBA finals.

Green was handed a one-match ban for a flagrant foul after striking Cleveland star LeBron James in the groin during the game four victory.

It is fourth time this season he has had a flagrant foul call.

Bogut said he and his teammates could not understand the decision, adding: "There’s no rhyme or reason to it. I’ve been in the same situation. I’ve been suspended before.

"It’s almost like a lottery system for the draft. They just pull out a ping-pong ball and make a decision."

Bogut is likely to get more game time in the clash with Green on the sidelines.

The Warriors are leading the series 3-1 and need a win to seal a second straight NBA title.
