‘Boutique botanical’ Happy Herbs now open in Kingscliff

THE ever-changing Marine Pde in Kingscliff got a little more colourful last weekend, as a Happy Herbs shop opened on Saturday.

The Kingscliff store is the third Happy Herbs to open in the region with the stores already operating out of Uki and Coolangatta.

Kingscliff shop owner and Uki resident Brad Hopgood said he was excited about the potential of bringing a herb shop to Kingscliff.

"Kingscliff is the place to be … there are heaps of amazing shops and clients already operating there, plenty of amazing designers and boutiques, and this is going to be the boutique of herbs … a boutique botanical," Dr Hopgood said.

The Happy Herb Company, formerly Happy High Herbs, has faced criticism before for dealing in synthetic alternatives to illegal substances, however Dr Hopgood is sincere that his store will serve the community as a naturopathic pharmacy and more.

"The shop will be for everyone aged 8-80 … there will be herbs for health, for dancing, for energy, for getting through the day, for chilling … herbs are a gift and everyone needs to use them," Dr Hopgood said.

The store sells a range of health herbs, energy boosters, superfoods for both medicine and cooking, and Dr Hopgood will also be offering horoscopes and tarot card readings for local customers.
