Brake problem axes flight

A JETSTAR flight scheduled to fly from the Gold Coast to Sydney was cancelled yesterday, with passengers waiting almost four hours before being told the aircraft was suffering technical issues and they would be transported by bus to Brisbane.

A spokesperson said a problem with the brakes system had caused the initial delay.

“We had an issue with the brake system and hoped it could be fixed at the Gold Coast Airport but a part has to be sourced from Sydney and due to the time it will take to receive the part it was decided to transport all passengers to Bris- bane. They will then be flown to Sydney,” the spokesperson said.

In a similar case, a Jetstar plane en route to Sydney on Thursday morning was forced to abort take-off due to technical problems.

Passengers on flight JQ403 were told to disembark at the last moment.
