Break and enter spate has Murwillumbah on alert
SHOPS in Murwillumbah have again been victim to break and enter offences.
Both the Matilda Service Station and Liquor Land were broken into overnight
Matilda's manager Harry Saad said he was called by security and told the service station had been broken into at 2am.
"They didn't take much," he said.
"They got the donation tin."
The front door was smashed and will cost at least $1100 to repair.
"You can't do much about it, can you," Mr Saad said.
Tweed-Byron Local Area Command crime manager Acting Inspector Saul Wiseman said police would continue to investigate the two Break and Enter offences.
"About 11pm on Sunday night the Liquor Land at South Murwillumbah was broken into," he said.
"Following that at 2.00am Monday morning, the Matilda Service station was broken into."
The town went through a similar spate of break and enter offences in January.
Police would like to hear from members of the public who may have any information to provide in relation to these breaks and enter offences.
