Dalby man gets tour of Google headquarters at Piermont
DALBY man Brendan McDonald was taken behind the scenes of Google's national headquarters last week.
Mr McDonald was one of 10 regional business representatives to touch down in Sydney and be transported by limo to the headquarters at Piermont.
The 10 people were representing regional finalists in the Online Hero competition, a contest designed to reward regional businesses expanding their market, primarily through the internet.
Mr McDonald has worked for Dingo Australia since 1999, which first made the foray into online business in 2013.
Using mapping services available through Google, as well as other features, Mr McDonald was able to streamline the business.
Google representatives and other elite judges said the Dalby-based company was being recognised for its outstanding use of the internet.
Judge Deputy Prime Minister Warren Truss said it was a wonderful business that relied on the internet to grow its expanding manufacturing base in Dalby
"It's a great example of a proud Australian company adapting to the digital age through clever use of online technology," he said.
