Brewmasters to offer the the top drops from the region

MANY would likely agree it's hard to beat an ice cold beer on a hot day.

But sampling some top local drops by the beachfront, accompanied by matching cuisine may do the job.

Saltbar Beachbar and Bistro will be hosting the Burleigh Brewing Brewmaster's Dinner on Friday, September 13, from 6.30pm, serving a variety of Burleigh beers with canapés on arrival and a degustation course designed by Saltbar executive chef, Mark McConnell.

Entertaining (and award- winning) internationally trained brewmaster and businessman Brennan Fielding will be the host of the evening, which promises to combine brilliant coastal brews and some delicious fare.

"The event is proving popular," Saltbar's Janelle Batt said.

"Tickets have been selling quickly, even though we haven't really began promoting it yet.

"We think it's the ultimate Father's Day present."

Burleigh Brewing Company was founded in 2007 by husband and wife team, Brennan and Peta Fielding, and now produces craft beers which are sold around the country.

Awarded the Telstra Queensland Business of the Year Award in July 2013, the Burleigh Brewing Company is a local success story which goes from strength to strength, creating new, distinctly different, award-winning craft beers.

Beers featured will be My Wife's Bitter, German wheat beer HEF, no-carb Big Head, Black Giraffe and Mt Warning Pale Ale.

Mr Fielding will discuss the beer's brewing process, their characteristics and give an explanation on the brewery's distinct product names.

"There's definitely a story about all the names behind the beers," Ms Batt said. "Brennan's hilarious and it should be a really engaging night.

"And the menu the chef's created will be superb."

Tickets for The Burleigh Brewing Brewmaster's Dinner are $55 each and selling quickly. Bookings are essential and close on September 9.

Visit saltbar.com.au or call 1300 725 822 to book your tickets.

Saltbar will also offer a free courtesy bus for Tweed residents living between Hastings Point and Chinderah on the day.

The Burleigh Brewing Company is the Gold Coast's only craft beer brewery and its products have been quickly gaining momentum over the years. To find out more about the brewing company go to burleighbrewing.com.au.
