Bridal expo expected to be bigger

OWNING a local bridal shop for nearly 10 years has given Denise Buck some memorable experiences.

Mrs Buck owns Baby’s Breath Bridal in Tweed Heads South and said the most unusual requests are usually the hardest to forget.

“We had a couple with seven kids who were into water-skiing and wanted a themed wedding,” she said.

“At one point the bride was wanting a swimming outfit with a train attached and the kids in different-coloured board shorts, so we do get some interesting requests sometimes.”

Mrs Buck’s shop is just one of nearly 40 local businesses getting ready for this weekend’s second annual Tweed Coast Wedding Expo.

Following a successful debut in August last year, the expo has grown in size to showcase wedding businesses from Tweed Heads, Northern New South Wales and the Gold Coast.

The Tweed Coast Wedding Expo, at the Tweed Civic Centre, Sunday, 9.30am to 3pm.
