Mackay man killed in crash has been identified

UPDATE:

A 50-YEAR-OLD South Mackay man, Bruce Mather, has been identified as the passenger who died in a two-vehicle crash, 10km south of Bowen on Tuesday morning.

A police spokeswoman yesterday said investigations into the crash were ongoing.

The man died at the scene when a small truck and car collided head-on on the Bruce Hwy.

Three others had minor injuries.

 

WEDNESDAY 7.15am:

A 50-year-old South Mackay man died in a two vehicle traffic crash south of Bowen yesterday.

Around 7.30am, a small truck and car collided head-on on the Bruce Highway about 10 kilometres south of Bowen.

The man, a passenger in the car, was pronounced deceased at the scene while three other people sustained minor injuries.

The Forensic Crash Unit investigation is continuing.

 

TUESDAY 10.30am:

A man has died following a two vehicle traffic crash south of Bowen this morning.

Initial information suggests around 7.30am a small truck and car collided head-on on the Bruce Highway about 10 kilometres south of Bowen.

The man, a passenger in the car, was pronounced deceased at the scene while three other people sustained minor injuries.

Diversions remain in place while the Forensic Crash Unit investigates.

There is no further information available at this time.

 

 

 

TUESDAY 8.12am:

THE Bruce Hwy is closed in both directions about 10km south of Bowen following a crash.

A police media spokesperson said the accident is between a car and a truck.

it is believed that one person has been taken to hospital with potentially serious injuries.

Police are advising drivers to avoid travelling that section of road as traffic can not be diverted.
