Kitten killings shock community

A SADISTIC kitten-killer may be living on the Fraser Coast, after one cat was found bashed to death and its sibling drowned at Toogoom.

Katherine Munce and her partner were walking their dogs on the beach when they came across the gruesome sight of the kitten with its head smashed in.

A search revealed another kitten had been drowned - but a third animal was still alive.

The kitten, aged between three and five weeks old, has been fostered through Fraser Coast Pet Warriors and nicknamed Toogie, after where it was found.

"It's the first time I've seen such horrific cruelty here - it is heartbreaking that someone would choose that method to get rid of a problem," Fraser Coast Pet Warriors spokeswoman Sue Brooks said.

But the story may have a happy ending for the tiny feline.

"Luckily we'd earlier received a mother cat and kittens who had been abandoned, and the mother is feeding Toogie too," she said.

The incident has been reported to the RSPCA.
