Burleigh Heads unit fire

A WOMAN has been taken to hospital for smoke inhalation after a fire in a Burleigh Heads unit complex on Saturday night.

Police were called to the Executive Dr address around 10.30pm.

The blaze caused internal damage to the unit and also to an adjoining unit.

Police have not yet released information into what may have started the blaze but were conducting examinations of the unit complex yesterday afternoon.

The news comes just weeks after a blaze destroyed a unit in Dandaloo Dr, Currumbin, on November 17.

The unit was unoccupied at the time and no one was injured, however the back bedroom and most of the unit was badly damaged by water and smoke.

Police are continuing their investigations into the circumstances of that blaze also.
