Four people, including two children, injured in crash

UPDATE: Four people, including two children, have been injured following a two-vehicle crash on the Bruce Hwy near Torbanlea on Wednesday morning.

Police said initial investigations indicated a four-wheel drive mobile home heading north on the highway had veered onto the southbound lane rolling down an embankment and colliding with a utility.

The male driver of the utility received minor injuries while a front female passenger and two children have sustained more serious injuries however, the police said, it was not believed the injuries were life threatening.

All were taken to Hervey Bay Hospital for treatment.

Police said a third child in the utility was uninjured and the two occupants of the mobile home were not injured.

The forensic crash unit is investigating.

Police said both lanes of the Bruce Hwy had been flowing again since at least 2pm.

EARLIER: A crash between what looks to be a campervan and a ute has partially closed the Bruce Hwy at Torbanlea causing major delays.

The campervan has crushed the other vehicle and only one lane of the highway is open.

The crash happened before 11am between the BP Service Station and the Torbanlea turn-off, between Maryborough and Childers.

Police and fire service officers are at the scene.
