A COOLANGATTA pest control business owner has reported becoming "infested" with pregnancies.

Sheila and Mick Humberstone, owners of Surekill, only employ 10 people, but they have all suddenly found themselves touched in some way by pregnancies.

"Everybody in the business is affected," Mrs Humberstone said.

"We've got the biggest infestation ever in the Surekill office.

"Debbie started it when she announced it, and then Michelle and Kelly, and a week after that Alyssa.

"The office is happy, exciting and hormonal."

Employee Debbie Walsh is expecting twins in February.

"I'm pregnant with my third and fourth, so life's about to get crazy," Ms Walsh said.

"It's fun and it's like working with only friends all day.

"It's nice to have people to discuss it with and we all have so much to talk about."

The sudden surge of pregnancies means Mrs Humberstone has been busy recruiting new staff.

"I've already got a replacement for Debbie who starts next week," she said.

"And I'm looking for a replacement for Kelly, who will leave in March."

Even former employees are not immune.

"The girls who were working here are now pregnant. Both of them," Mrs Humberstone said.

"There must be something in the water."

Technician Dave Maddison, while not expecting, was also in the club.

"He's got a seven-month-old puppy just out of training for termite detection," Mrs Humberstone said.

"And our technical manager Ben Lente is getting married in three weeks, so there might be a baby soon."

Alyssa: former employee expecting twins.

Karen & Glenn (Alyssa's parents): their first two grandchildren on the way.

Michelle: former employee and Karen's sister expecting her second baby in early April.

Debbie: also expecting twins in February. They will be her third and fourth children.

Kelly: expecting her second child in early April and her partner Ryan works at Surekill.

Sheila and Mick (Kelly's parents): are expecting their fourth grandchild.

Ben: getting married in three weeks and Sheila hopes a baby will come along soon after.
