CHIPPA Wilson along with Cabarita Boardriders got wet for the Caba's Big Bang-Show Up & Blow Up Surfing Competition this weekend.

There were 24 talented junior (18 & under) surfers competing for a 1st prize of $2,000 and 48 open division surfers competing for $5,000 1st prize.

Cabarita Beach surfer Ryan Zietlow enjoyed the surfing conditions of the event.

"It's a great competition and run really good," he said.

"I haven't had waves for a comp like this forever; I have just been getting really sick ones a good 2 to 3 foot waves on Sunday and a good 4 foot on Saturday."

It was a perfect weekend for the event with sunshine, great waves and talented competitors.

"Some barrels good airs going down everyone sticking everything with high scores just a great comp," Zietlow said.

Zietlow got knocked out in one of the quarters of the juniors but still had the opens to come.

With professional surfers and up and coming juniors from all over Australia, it made for a great event.

"The Comp has been epic we have had two days of waves and great weather so to have a event like this it's just insane," Chippa Wilson said

Juniors 1st place was Brayden Templeton, 2nd Sheldon Simkus, 3rd Jake Vincent, 4th Noah Cooney.

In the open event 1st Mitch Crews, 2nd Curtis Ewing, 3rd Andrew Mooney and 4th Ty Watson.

With sponsors like Monster Energy, Nixon Now, Hutchinson Builders, Matt Hurworth Surfboards, Fox Head Inc., Arnette, Kustom, & Capt. Fin Co it made for a great event.
