A MAN has taken to social media in the search for his dad, who he believes was a truck driver in Gin Gin in 1984.

Terry Ballard has posted a photo of himself on the On The Pads "QLD EDITION" Facebook in an attempt to track down his biological dad.

Mr Ballard is photographed holding a note which reads: "I am 31 on the 27/12/2015. I was conceived in late January, early February 1984 in Bundaberg, Queensland."

"My father was a truck driver and met my mother Michele Heron in Gin Gin, Queensland.

"She was 19 at the time and had brown hair, she tells me his name was Tony Bell.

"I don't know if he knows about me, but I would love to find him so please share this and help me find my dad."
