Cansdell romps in for Nats

RECEIVING 62.9% of the vote is a result incumbent Member for Clarence Steve Cansdell always knew was on the cards, and something of which he is extremely proud.

Never cocky during the election campaign, Mr Cansdell always believed the National Party would hold the seat of Clarence.

“We kept our campaign positive. We didn’t bring the dirt out, the dirt was brought out on us,” he said.

“Now I am very proud to be a part of an incoming Coalition Government that is ready, willing and able to make significant change,” he said.

“That is a task that isn’t going to be easy. It is going to take discipline and hard work, which is something we have displayed during our campaign.

“There is no question that the Labor Government has had a negative effect on the state of New South Wales and we will be working to get rid of the mismanagement, and in some cases incompetence, to bring our State back on track.”
