Car and boat jack-knife on bypass

A CAR towing a boat has jack-knifed on the Tugun Bypass this afternoon causing the closure of the northbound lanes and lengthy traffic delays.

A Queensland South-East Region police spokesman said the accident occurred around 1.30pm (NSW) about 1km south of the Tugun Bypass.

The occupants only sustained minor injuries.

The spokesman said the accident had blocked the northbound lanes of the motorway causing traffic to be diverted onto the Gold Coast Hwy.

Police were unable to say how long it would take for the lanes to be re-opened.
