Car slams into Murwillumbah Flower Shed, two in hospital

TWO people are lucky to be alive after their car slammed into Murwillumbah Flower Shed in the early hours of this morning.

"We got called because of possible person trapped," Murwillumbah Fire and Rescue NSW captain Greg Hayes said.

"The car hit the median strip, grazed a Volkswagen and went under a ute."

The car then pushed the ute into a shipping container, which Captain Hayes said was moved.

"They're lucky to be alive," he said.

It is understood a man took the female and male occupants to hospital before the ambulance arrived.

Rumours around town suggest the car was travelling at 100km when they hit the shipping containers and the air bags deployed.

Police from the Tweed-Byron Local Area Command were on the scene investigating this morning but were unavailable for comment at this time.
