West Ham finally break their losing streak

CARLTON Cole and Mark Nolan finally gave West Ham fans something to cheer about - a victory.

The Hammers climbed out of the relegation zone after Cole and Nolan scored in the much-needed 2-0 win at Cardiff.

It was West Ham's first Premier League win in eight games.

Defending champion, Manchester United, also ended a three-game losing streak in all competitions after beating Swansea, the side that knocked them out of the FA Cup a week earlier, 2-0.

Chelsea moved to the top of the ladder after goals from Eden Hazard and Fernando Torres secured a 2-0 win at Hull.

Everton went fourth after a 2-0 home win over Norwich and Tottenham Hotspur is fifth after beating now last-placed Crystal Palace 2-0.

Adam Johnson scored a hat-trick as Sunderland vacated last place with a 4-1 win at fellow strugglers Fulham while West Brom lost 1-0 at Southampton.
