Cartwright to undergo surgery

GOLD Coast Titans coach John Cartwright is expected to undergo surgery today for a suspected case of appendicits and won't travel with the team to Newcastle.

The 45 year old was rushed to hospital on Friday night and with surgery required, has been advised not to travel, and will miss his team's clash with the Knights tomorrow afternoon.

Assistant Coaches Steve Murphy and Trevor Gillmeister will take the reins of the team in Cartwright's absence.
