Catch the 'low-life loser scum' who stole my car

A PROMINENT Tweed businessman is calling on the community to help track down a car labelled his "pride and joy", stolen from his Tumbulgum home and since used in a string of offences across South-East Queensland.

The 2015 HSV Commodore sedan, bearing the number plates RB6110, was stolen on July 8 when thieves struck the home of transport logistics director Ross Brims.

Mr Brims said offenders ransacked his house, emptying out every cupboard, before stealing alcohol and jewellery as well as his prized new car.

With only 2000km on the clock, the Commodore was a reward for years of service to the family company: Ross Brims Bulk Transport at Chinderah and South Tweed.

Police said the car has since been used in the commission of several offences at Strathpine, Springwood, Jacobs Well, Logan, Beenleigh, Slacks Creek, Helensvale and Surfers Paradise.

"We're still quite shaken, we just want some information for the arrest of the people who have done it, because I don't want them to get away with it," Mr Brims said.

Mr Brims, whose family has been on the Tweed for over a hundred years and also have business premises at Murwillumbah and the Gold Coast, said the Commodore was worth over $100,000.

"But it's not about the money, it's the principle - I'm a principled man," Mr Brims said.

"I've been working since I was 14-years-old, just for this, and these mongrels have come along and taken it.

"It's totally wrong.

"They are low-life looser scum who don't work for anything, I hope they get caught."

Tweed Byron LAC Police have renewed their appeal to members of the community to come forward with any information as to the whereabouts of the stolen vehicle.

"Ross is keen to have it back so information will be appreciated, it's still outstanding it hasn't been located," Sergeant Cameron Miller said.

If any member of the public has information they wish to share they can contact Tweed Heads Police Station on 07 5536 0999 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
