Celtic Thunder rolling in to Convention Centre

CELTIC Thunder are getting ready to rock our Aussie shores once again in what is set to be another sell-out performance.

The group will perform at the Gold Coast Convention Centre early next year in their second tour of Australia.

Earlier this year group members Emmet Cahill, Keith Harkin, Ryan Kelly, George Donaldson and Neil Byrne made their debut in Australia.

Harkin told My Daily News he could not wait to get his feet back on Aussie soil.

"It was really the best fun we've ever had on tour," he said.

"I really mean that."

The Northern Ireland artist said last year's show was jam packed and he was hoping it would be the same this time round.

The keen Irish surfer said one of his best mates actually lived on the Gold Coast so he spent his spare time on the last tour "catching some waves."

Harkin said he believed Australian's were drawn to the group's music because of our heritage.

"We also have five to six artists of all different ages with completely different sounds," he said.

"There's something for everyone and we cover all of the bases.

"I really genuinely can't wait to head out there again."

Since their first tour in 2008 the group have sky rocketed to fame.

Celtic Thunder has celebrated worldwide sales approaching 2 million units and have a string of platinum and double platinum discs, with their recent DVD release 'The Show' having just gone triple platinum in Australia.

This year they have gone on to become Universal Music Australia's highest selling artist on DVD for 2012.

Globally they have sold over half a million concert tickets and their official YouTube channel 'Thunder Tube' has received over 28 million views since its creation.

To top that off the popular artists were the number one Billboard World Artist for 2009 and 2011, not bad for a group who has only been around for about five years.

"The success we've had is insane," he said.

"But it's because we've worked hard and haven't stopped since we started."

The group even played for the President of the United States of America, Barrack Obama.
