Centaur Carnivale a swirl of fun, food and fairy floss

CENTAUR Primary School held its annual Spring Carnival on Friday and although no horses were raced or even present, the kids were given the opportunity to have some rides of another nature.

Tractor rides were popular as were the toy stalls, egg throwing, face painting, lucky dips and sporting competitions.

School learning support officer Melissa Corowa said "the festive sounds of fun and laughter reverberated through the air as families flocked through Centaur Primary School's gates and entered a world of carnival."

"Children ate fairy floss, purchased goodie jars and joined the queue to jump on the big bus and hang off the giant sticky wall.

"Senior students entered combat games of laser skirmish and participated in more peaceful creative tie-dying," Ms Corowa said.

Parents mingled at the food stalls while their kids gathered show bags and memories.

The event culminated in a huge auction of community donated items and the funds raised were a welcome show of gratitude for all the efforts by the community, staff, students and parents.
