Centennial for Tyalgum Diggers

DIG out your Akubra, Wranglers and RM Williams boots – Tyalgum Diggers Rodeo and Sports Day is back and celebrating it’s 100th birthday.

The day kicks off at 9am at the Tyalgum Sports Ground and runs through until midnight, with plenty to keep you entertained throughout the day.

The highlights of the day will be in the show ring with the equestrian gymkhana, organised by Robyn Donoghue, featuring a seven-event program from 9am through until 11.30am.

This will be followed by the rodeo at 1pm, and again there is a full program planned, including the saddle ride, bareback ride, barrel race, novice bull ride and bullock ride and junior events – the poddy calf ride and barrel race.

The action will culminate with the major crowd pleaser, the bull ride, with a top prize of $1000.

It’s not just about rodeo though, there is fun on for all the family including market stalls, a mechanical bull, vintage cars and hot rods display, a woodchop demonstration, Little Miss Cowgirl and Cowboy competition and a fireworks spectacular.

Tickets at the gate will be $10 for adults, $20 for families (2 adults and 2 kids), $6 for pensioners; and children under 17 (not entering on a family pass) are $2.
