Chamber Ensemble to present a Spring Serenade

SPRING has well and truly sprung and to celebrate the season change a Spring Serenade will be presented by the Gold Coast Chamber Ensemble.

On Sunday the newly formed string chamber group of musicians will perform some of the greatest classical music to ever be composed

Organiser and flautist Anna Stoddart said all of the artists had a unique love for their instruments.

"We're all very passionate," she said.

"We've got together as a small string chamber to just delight the audience."

Divertimento No 3 by Mozart, St Paul's Suite by Gustav Holst and Schindler's List by John Williams will be performed by the group.

A small solo from the Suite in A minor by Telemann will be performed by Mrs Stoddart herself.

The highlight of the afternoon will be a performance by soloists Michael Russo and Hugh Won.

They will bring to life Vivace from the Concerto in D minor for two violins and springs by Bach.

Up until now Mrs Stoddart said the group mainly performed for corporate functions and she was excited in the lead up to Sunday's serenade.

Tickets are $20 and can be purchased at Murwillumbah Music or by calling 02 6672 5404.

The concert will kick off at 2.30 DST at Murwillumbah's All Saints Anglican Church, 32 Byangum Rd.
