Charitable couple make trip to sale
THEY'VE travelled a long way to help spread a charitable message, and yesterday their destination was Warwick's iconic Pig and Calf sale.
British tourists Cyril and Marie Sadler, who were passing through Warwick on a trip from Brisbane to Adelaide, were among the large crowds enjoying a day out in the sunshine.
Bearing a blue shirt with the slogan Chestnut Appeal Burgh Island Swim, Mrs Sadler was happily chatting to locals about a charity event she participates in back home.
"The Chestnut Appeal raises funds to support prostate cancer patients," she said.
"I've known people with prostate cancer - it's life-changing for them."
The charitable visitor will take part in a one mile swim around Burgh Island in September as part of the Chestnut Appeal, an event which is celebrating its 15th year.
For the Sadlers, visiting the Pig and Calf sale was a real experience, adding to the many memories they will have of their three-month trip to Australia.
"Who doesn't like a country market - I love these places," Mrs Sadler said.
"We first came into Adelaide and then went to Brisbane.
"We came up here because it's been so hot in Brisbane - it's very comfortable here."
Mr Sadler said he really enjoyed the day out at the sale in such great weather.
"It's lovely - there's such a variety of stuff on show from all the animals to everything else."
