Chickens to flap out the door

NIGHTOWL stores across the Tweed and southern Gold Coast are bracing for the biggest barbecue chicken meal of the year - Christmas dinner.

Store staff are already taking pre-orders in preparation for the huge sales that are growing every year.

Robina Rocket manager Terry Tidyman said modern families were getting busier and needed a simple solution to feeding the family on Christmas Day.

"Most of our customers ordering the BBQ chickens have told us that they work right up to Christmas so their time to spend with family is mostly on Christmas Day," Mr Tidyman said.

"They don't want to spend this precious time in the kitchen.

"Our hot chickens give them a non-fuss, delicious and great quality option."

NightOwl Robina Rocket, Palm Beach, Pottsville and Lismore will all be open Christmas Day.

"For us, Christmas is like our Good Friday for seafood restaurants," Mr Tidyman said.

"Families want to make sure they have a roast chicken on their table."

Barbecue chickens can be purchased on Christmas Day, however NightOwl is recommending pre-ordering.
