Chris Pitt is off to the Paralympics
BUNDABERG will have two athletes competing at the Paralympics this year in Rio after Chris Pitt was selected today by the Australian Paralympic Committee.
Competing in shooting Pitt is one of six shooting athletes chosen for the games with fellow Queenslander Bradley Mark also making the team.
They will be joined by two athletes from Victoria and Libby Kosmala who will be competing at her 12th games.
The 51-year-old will also join fellow Bundaberg athlete Rheed McCracken at the games in September after the wheelchair athlete qualified earlier this year in at least two events in the T34 class.
This will be the first appearance for Pitt at the games and he will compete in the 25m pistol event.
Recently Pitt participated at a shooting meet in Germany with the athlete finishing in the semi-finals of the two World Cup meets in Thailand and the United Arab Emirates earlier this year.
There will be more on his achievement later in the day.
